The New York State Nurses Association, elected officials and advocates gathered outside of New York Presbyterian-Allen in the rain Aug. 19 to fight for the hospital’s embattled psychiatric unit to be reopened.
Hospital administrators closed the 30-bed unit in order to convert it into an intensive-care unit for COVID patients during the height of the pandemic.
