The largest nurses strike in New York City history ended this weekend.
On Feb. 19, NewYork-Presbyterian nurses announced that they had reached a second tentative agreement with hospital management a week after voting down their initial pact. The new deal improves staffing standards and layoff protections, two key issues that led nurses to reject the previous accord that their union, the New York State Nurses Association, had reached with the help of a mediator.
