To the editor:
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde looked Donald Trump right in the eye and said, “In the name of our God I ask you to have mercy upon the people,” people with different sexual orientations and hardworking immigrants who have every reason to be very scared now.
Predictably, Trump called the bishop a radical, hardline Trump-hater and said that she and her church owe the public an apology.
There will be no apology from Bishop Budde. She made Trump look so small, so cowardly and so ignorant, and she did it just by asking Trump to be compassionate. Malignant narcissists don’t know how to be compassionate. Thank you, Bishop Budde.
