Following an eight-week jury trial, a 28-year-old man was convicted Monday of murder charges for his role in the February 2019 friendly-fire death of NYPD Detective Brian Simonsen.
Jagger Freeman was also found guilty of robbery, assault and other charges arising out of the botched and deadly holdup of a Queens cellphone shop. He faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced June 30.
