The World Trade Center Health Program will be fully funded through 2040 under a spending package signed by President Donald Trump last week. The funding package, passed by the U.S House of Representatives and the Senate last month, substantially alters the funding formula for the program to avert a fiscal cliff that that could have forced cuts in 2027.
Under the WTCHP Correction Act, the program will receive more than $600 million in additional funding, ensuring that the over 150,000 people currently enrolled in the program, according to the Centers for Disease Control, and the thousands more likely to enroll in the coming years, will have healthcare coverage.
