Logic needed

Posted

To the editor:

A pre-2024 presidential election New York Times editorial said, "Donald Trump says he will prosecute his enemies, order mass deportations, use soldiers against citizens, abandon allies and play politics with disasters. Believe him." But many people didn't pay attention and later said, "I didn't know he would go this far."

They also ignored his record, which included trying to overthrow the government and make himself a dictator after he lost an election. Anyone with sense should have been scared away from voting for him after that.

One nice woman complained that President Obama had taken things away. When I pointed out this was not true and it was Trump who was trying to take things away, she said "I don't know anything about politics." People need to educate themselves or stop voting.

Then there are many Trump supporters who are evil haters. Some will twist logic into a pretzel in an attempt to justify their Trump-love. But when Trump is trying to make himself what Iran's Ayatollah is, a dictator, they should be doing what they're telling Trump's critics to do, move to Iran.

Also, they claim that because of inflation, the economy was bad under President Joe Biden. But under Trump, they ignore inflation and claim the economy is good.

As for the "moderate" Democrats, they need to become more than Republican-lite. Senator Chuck Schumer complains of "launching a military action without congressional approval." So it would have been okay to attack Venezuela and kidnap their president and his wife if he asked Congress first?

Plus, just before leaving office, Biden upped the reward money for arresting Maduro from $15 million to $25 million.

Let’s get straight to the point! In paragraph one, Warren references a New York Times editorial that warned about Trump’s intentions for retribution before the 2024 election. However, many people dismissed the Times editorial as political spin and propaganda.

In paragraph four, Warren claims many Trump supporters are evil haters who distort logic to justify their support for Trump, who seeks to become a dictator like Iran’s Ayatollah. Comparing Trump to the Ayatollah is a figment of Warren’s overheated imagination.

In paragraph six, sentence one, Warren goes on to say that moderate” Democrats need to become more than Republican-lite, which is a misnomer because moderate Democrats have gone the way of the dinosaur; they are extinct.

In all frankness, Warren’s imaginary letter contains several innuendos about Trump and his supporters. Aside from that, there’s not much to it.
