Contract negotiations between the MTA and TWU Local 100 kicked off earlier this week with the transit agency contending with a parched revenue stream and the union promising increased militancy.
During a meeting earlier this week with MTA officials, including his counterpart at the authority, Richard Davey, the local’s president, Richard Davis, made the case for a quality contract by recalling the work done by transit workers during the dark days of the pandemic even as dozens of their colleagues were dying of Covid complications.
