Zephyr Teachout got 34 percent of the Democratic primary vote; her running mate, Lieutenant Governor candidate Tim Wu, got 40 percent. This is damn good for two people with little campaign cash or name recognition.
Those of us who voted for them anyway realize that you don’t reward your enemies. In 2009, many people did not vote because they believed Mayor Michael Bloomberg was unbeatable. Bloomberg squeaked out a close victory against the Democratic candidate, Bill Thompson.
