To the editor:
Author Stephen King stated that “Donald Trump is worse than any horror story I’ve written.” He stated that “Deep down in his heart, I believe Trump knows he’s an incompetent a—hole.”
Coming from the best horror story author in the world today, this is important, but any fair-minded, rational person already knows that this is true.
As a military veteran and a retired police officer, what I can’t understand is how many in the military and in police departments (active and retired) can support a draft-dodging coward, Donald Trump, who not only pardoned the insurrectionists who attacked and seriously injured police officers (five died) on January 6, 2021, but who now wants to reward them with money from a slush fund he hopes to obtain.
Donald Trump is someone who soldiers and cops should despise for he does not stand for, and has acted contrary to, everything the military and law enforcement stand for. He’s a greedy pig to start with.
Clearly, he is a narcissistic, misogynistic, xenophobic and racist person with no moral foundation, but he has fooled many people who foolishly think of him as a strong leader who can help them. How stupid does one have to be to consider Trump a competent leader when every confused lie out of his mouth shows him to be not only a liar, but a demented liar who is losing his sanity with every passing day?

Spot on. Donald Trump has never made a personal sacrifice in his life. Quite the contrary, Trump has been a cheat, taker and abuser every day of the 80 years this plague has walked the earth. Even as president, he spends 3 days a week cheating at golf (which has cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars) and the other 4 days grifting billions of dollars for himself and his family. Trump's latest scam is selling early-access Truth Social subscriptions to inside traders for a whopping $100,000/month.

I agree. But unlike Ray Davies' Mr. Flash, don't expect Trump to confess with "Been a cheat/Been a crook/Never gave/I always took."

Donald Trump saw regular people in trouble and stood between them and ruin.
In 1986, a Georgia widow faced foreclosure. Her husband was gone; the bank was cold. Trump paid the debt. The fire from the burning mortgage smelled like victory in New York. Two years later, a boy gasped for air. He needed life-support to fly for surgery, but airlines refused. "Use my plane," Trump said. The private jet cut through the sky, saving the boy. In 2008, after a brutal family tragedy, singer Jennifer Hudson needed a safe haven. Trump opened his Chicago tower. The steel was strong; the rooms were quiet and secure.
The presidency did not change his impulse to give. He refused the nation’s pay, sending forty thousand dollars every quarter to mend national parks, care for veterans, and fight opioids.
When Hurricane Harvey smashed the Texas coast, the rain was blinding. Trump and his wife sent one million dollars of their own money. Three hundred thousand dollars went to the Red Cross. Another three hundred thousand went to the Salvation Army. He saw his country hurting and answered the call to lift regular Americans out of their darkest hours.
These facts have not appeared in the New York Times, and the broadcast anchors are too busy to share them-I wonder why?

While what Word Man says may be true, Trump is not a giving man. He is very selfish. He doesn't want to pay his taxes. How about some donations to blue states? He only cares about his followers. He evaded the draft using bone spurs as an excuse.

Krell1349...Donald Trump did not dodge the draft. True draft-dodging means breaking the law or fleeing the country. He did neither. The law gave him four education deferments and one medical exemption for bone spurs. Millions of men used the system similarly.
"Joe Biden” also received five student deferments and a 1-Y medical status for teenage asthma. You omit Biden's 1-Y. ..Why?

Your answers to anything Trump are Biden this and Biden that. Biden is not the President now, Trump is and despite your definitions he evaded the draft. It was done as a favor to Trump's father. Captain Bone Spurs, lives on!!!!!

I did check it out and Trump did things dishonestly and Biden did it the right way. You don't report all the facts. You spew alternative facts to suit your master and MAGA god Trump who you protect at all costs.
