FDNY EMTs, paramedics and fire protection inspectors elected Michael Greco as president of their union by a wide margin in April, choosing establishment leadership over an insurgent challenger. Greco, Local 2507’s current vice president, received 74 percent of the vote, besting his challenger, Brooklyn paramedic Byron Abad, in a 543 to 153 vote overseen by the American Arbitration Association that concluded April 21.
Greco told The Chief that he was “pleased” with the results of the election and plans to continue the work of current president Oren Barzilay to support and improve the livelihoods of EMS workers and fire protection inspectors.
