Good coordination counts

To the editor:

It was good to hear that the NYPD cooperated with their law enforcement brothers at Wyckoff Hospital while bringing in a prisoner and keeping protesters in check. And I commend NYPD Commissioner Tisch and the mayor for standing against rioting and law breaking instead of starting a problem that the city will be left with in the future and letting NYPD do their job instead of being ordered to stand idly by and watch a riot begin.

There is a lesson in this cooperation that goes a long way unlike Minnesota, Chicago and California no one got hurt and the NYPD acted very professional.

In a nutshell, effective policing is essential for safeguarding lives, while ineffective policing results in the loss of human lives. Commissioner Tisch of the NYPD deserves commendation for preventing the Wyckoff Hospital protest from escalating into violence, unlike the police departments in Minnesota, Chicago, and California, which chose to stand down, leading to violence, fatalities, and property damage.
