The continued efforts by President Trump and his Republican allies including ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani to discredit the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives during the 2016 election had one GOP-er fighting mad about the manner in which they were eroding respect for law enforcement: former Assistant Deputy Wardens/Deputy Wardens Association President Sidney Schwartzbaum.
“It’s so despicable and so disgraceful,” he said during a May 31 phone interview. “I’m sick and tired as a citizen of listening to a President who creates a new lie every day. It’s truly shameful. [House Speaker] Paul Ryan should be entered into ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ as a man without a spine. They’ve abdicated their responsibility and are basically enabling the President to circumvent the rule of law.”
