For life

To the editor:

Khalil Gibran, a renowned writer, believed that life is a profound and interconnected journey of spiritual growth, love and inevitability. He famously said “life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.”

Gibran emphasized that children are not possessions but “sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself,” meant to be guided but not forced into the parent’s image.

On Friday, Jan. 23, thousands of pro-life advocates gathered in Washington, D.C. for the 53rd annual March for Life. The march commenced at the National Mall and proceeded to the Supreme Court, where they passionately expressed their opposition to abortion.

Vice President JD Vance, speaking for the second consecutive year, shared a heartfelt personal note with the crowd. He and his wife, Usha, are thrilled to announce that they are expecting their fourth child, a third son, in late July. This personal revelation received enthusiastic cheers from the attendees.

Vance emphasized that pro-life advocacy transcends legal arguments and encompasses a broader cultural affirmation of life. He asserted, “Let it be recorded that you have a vice president who embodies the principles he espouses.” He drew attention to his family’s recent news while emphasizing the significance of family life in the cause.

Volunteers and representatives from various organizations distributed resources to support women facing unplanned pregnancies, families in need and individuals seeking guidance. These resources included information packets, service referrals, and confidential conversations, demonstrating the community’s ongoing support beyond public demonstrations at the March for Life.

The March for Life is not merely about a specific law or court case; it is a fight for life in every conceivable way. When life is no longer regarded as inherently valuable, the legal and social agreements that safeguard against violence and exploitation crumble.

    A Freestyle Poem Denouncing ********

The sanctity of life heartlessly imperiled,

by secular laws of wanton impropriety.

The baby in the mother’s womb double-barreled,

by nature and the ever-changing material world.

Unknowingly, the unwitting fangirl who is “pro-choice,”

chooses to abort the baby and end its fragile human life.

Due to odious secular laws, the innocent baby is no more.

The mother’s mind dutifully corrupted by disinformation.

    Oh, how the confused mothers suffer in solitude and pain;

their lifelong agonies and copious tears evermore.

Forsaken by indurate government policy and bureaucracy,

Mother and child are saddened, separated and forlorn.
