The Professional Staff Congress filed a lawsuit May 31 in Manhattan Supreme Court alleging that the city public-university system’s Covid vaccine mandate does not apply to thousands of employees.
The union, which represents 30,000 CUNY employees, contends that the enacted policy is “arbitrary and capricious” since it doesn’t require all university employees to get inoculated. While full- and part-time faculty and staff represented by the PSC must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, about 10,000 employees represented by other unions are excluded from the mandate.
