The Civil Service Employees Association and the Public Employee Federation ratified contracts with New York State in August, settling five-year pacts that give members 4.5 percent raises in the contract's first year retroactive to April. Together, the two deals secure around 115,000 state employees in many roles across New York their highest raises in decades.

The two collective bargaining agreements run from April 2026 through April 2031 and have identical wage increases of over 19 percent over the lifetime of the deals. Both agreements secure union members 20 hours of paid pre-natal leave, increase the cap for sick leave accumulation, improve dental benefits, eliminate yearly deductibles for prescription drugs and more.
