Challengers in the upcoming elections for the United Federation of Teachers are calling for a new direction within the union.
Next Monday marks the deadline for receipt of nominations, and it appears the UFT’s longtime president, Michael Mulgrew, will face off against candidates from two slates: A Better Contract’s Amy Arundell and ARISE’s Olivia Swisher.
