To the Editor: I feel compelled to write after the Jan. 21 edition's op-ed piece by Vincent Scala and the "weekly" letter by Michael Gorman.
Mr. Scala in his attempt to defend Manhattan's new DA describes a robbery where the perpetrator displayed a knife, then goes on to explain that no verbal threat was made. Nowhere in the state Criminal Procedure Law does it state the need for verbal threat to accompany a display of a deadly weapon for it to be considered a robbery. This is simply misinformation and purposefully misleading information, and the attorney needs to be admonished.
