To the Editor: It would appear that a new face of the President of the Teachers Union for Education Secretary will follow a tradition of a candidate with no permanent experience in teaching, administration or academia.
Parents are going crazy with the plan by the Mayor, with the consent of the United Federation of Teachers, to close down in-person learning in schools based on an artificial construct of a 3-percent coronavirus positive testing level despite a proven high false-positive rate of COVID tests. The Nobel Prize-winner who created this PCR test reports that it cannot detect active viruses and should not be used, showing a 50-percent rate of false positives.
