Margaret Alfano expressed surprise Sept. 13 when informed that her husband, Joseph, had been indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office for allegedly paying more than $50,000 in bribes to officials of Clerical-Administrative Employees Local 1549 of District Council 37.
