The F.B.I searched the homes of two top FDNY chiefs who oversee the department's Bureau of Fire Prevention Thursday morning as part of an investigation into allegations that each took close to $100,000 in payments in exchange for expedited safety inspections, according to multiple media reports.
Chief Anthony Saccavino, the head of the Fire Prevention Bureau, and his deputy, Chief Brian Cordasco, were placed on modified duty following the FBI’s search of the chiefs’ homes.
