Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill on July 29 promoted Theresa C. Tobin to Assistant Chief, topping a list of more than 100 upgrades that was heavy on Detectives and Criminalists.
Chief Tobin, who joined the NYPD in 1983, began her career on patrol in the 113th Precinct and since served in the 1st, 10th, 13th, 103rd and 106th Precincts, as well in the offices of the Commissioner, Chief of Department and Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, among other assignments.
