Workers again call for end of 24-hour workdays and seek back pay

State Labor Dep’t closed stolen-wage cases without resolution, they say

Hundreds of former and current home-care workers and their allies rallied last week outside the state Division of Labor Standards in downtown Brooklyn to demand an end to the notorious 24-hour workday and to recoup  the wages they say they are owed.

The notorious practice assigns home-care workers to the home of a patient who needs around-the-clock care but for which they are paid for just 13 hours, with the other 11 hours, ostensibly catalogued as time for sleep and meals, unpaid.
