To the Editor: The Trump-incited riot at the Capitol by right-wing extremist supporters was an abomination, but not unexpected. It was a coda to a nightmare presidency, supported by virtually the entire Republican Party and brought to you courtesy of Twitter, Facebook and other social-media companies.
It's laughable when Republicans such as McConnell, Pence, Bush, Cheney and Condoleezza Rice invoke the Constitution and the sanctity of democracy in response to this insurrection.
