It is astonishing, if not altogether surprising, that more than two weeks after the Sergeants Benevolent Association issued a tweet referring to Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot as "this bitch," that sexist sneer remains up on the union's Twitter page.
City Council Speaker Corey Johnson recently joined with the 12 members of the Council Women's Caucus to slam SBA President Ed Mullins in a letter for his "derogatory and misogynistic language" and called the tweet "offensive, inappropriate and demeaning."
