Is it just us, or does Greg Russ, the incoming Chairman of the Housing Authority, seem reminiscent of Mayor de Blasio’s first Correction Commissioner, Joseph Ponte?

Both took over troubled agencies far larger than anything they’d run in their field. Mr. Russ has said he will be commuting to his family’s home in Minnesota on weekends;  Mr. Ponte during his last year at Correction spent 90 days at his home in Maine.

After improper use of department resources while out of state earned him a Department of Investigation rebuke, Mr. Ponte retired at age 70. Guess what Mr. Russ, who is 69, plans to do if his $402,000 HA job isn’t working out as hoped?
