BCB Grants CSBA’s Bid to Represent P.D. Assistant Advocates

The Board of Collective Bargaining has ruled that a handful of attorneys who handle administrative discipline for the NYPD are entitled to union representation.

The title at issue is Assistant Advocate-PD. The NYPD Department Advocate’s Office, which deals with administrative prosecutions of uniformed and civilian employees, had 15 AAPDs and 11 Agency Attor­neys as of May 2013, the board found. Agency Attorneys are represented by the Civil Service Bar Association.
