The United University Professions, which represents thousands of employees working with coronavirus patients at three medical schools operated by the State University of New York, May 5 delivered 25,000 medical isolation gowns and 5,000 pairs of medical gloves to SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn.
Last month, the UUP, which represents 42,000 higher-education and medical staff, used money from its benefit trust fund to purchase 100,000 gowns for front-line members working in the public teaching hospitals.
