A supervisor accused by whistleblowing cop Adrian Schoolcraft of manipulating crime statistics and ordering unconstitutional arrests by officers in Brooklyn’s 81st Precinct has filed legal papers claiming he is a victim of Mr. Schoolcraft’s “malicious” lying.
Deputy Inspector Steven Mauriello, the former commander of the 81st Precinct, where Mr. Schoolcraft surreptitiously recorded his bosses illegally threatening punishment for officers who didn’t meet summons quotas, ordering illegal arrests and refusing to take reports of felony crimes, denies acting improperly.
