Police Benevolent Association President Patrick J. Lynch, the son of a Train Operator and himself a Conductor in the city transit system before becoming a cop, went back to opening doors May 27 when he brought a union delegation to New York City Transit headquarters bearing sandwiches and gratitude.
The union delivered nearly 1,000 heroes and other sandwiches from Antun's Catering Hall in Queens Village to Transport Workers Union Local 100 President Tony Utano and dozens of his members as a thank you for their efforts to keep the city running during the coronavirus pandemic. The visit was a continuation of the PBA's series of meal runs that previously focused primarily on saluting staff at various city hospitals.
