The rate of weapons being recovered in city juvenile-detention centers has more than doubled—and even with the added confiscations, the rate of staff being assaulted by teens remains high, according to the de Blasio administration.
The weapon-recovery rate per 100 daily population at Crossroads Juvenile Center and Horizon Juvenile Center jumped from 0.09 in Fiscal Year 2019 to 0.22 in Fiscal Year 2020, which ended in June, the Mayor’s Management Report stated.
