Mayor's Budget Plan Won't Refill 10,000 Vacated City Jobs

In his first preliminary city budget, Mayor Adams Feb. 16 presented a spending plan more reminiscent of ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg's fiscal discipline than his immediate predecessor's approach that expanded the city workforce to well over 300,000.

He committed to "straight talk, accountability, fiscal discipline and radically practical" while advancing "equity, safety and justice.''
