Three organizations of Latino police officers came together to call for the next Police Commissioner to be one of their brethren.
The NYPD Hispanic Society, the National Association of Latino Police Officers and the New York Dominican Officers Organization urged at a press conference Oct. 20 that when the next Mayor takes over in January he appoint First Deputy Commissioner Rafael Pineiro to lead the department. Mr. Pineiro has been an NYPD cop for 42 years.
