When filing for Court Officer Trainee closed Feb. 26, more than 88,000 people had applied, Court Officers Association President Dennis Quirk told us the following day. He wasn’t sure it was a record for the job, but it was pretty close, he said.
Asked what generated such strong interest in the position, Mr. Quirk, who has headed the COA for 46 years, said, “The pay is decent, the benefits are good, most of our people work Monday through Friday.”
