A Queens grand jury has declined to indict a recently retired NYPD Officer in connection with his alleged use of a chokehold while he was arresting a man last year.
Former Police Officer David Afanador, 40, among several cops who wrestled a man to the ground while arresting him on a Far Rockaway boardwalk in June 2020, was the first cop to face charges under a new state law banning the maneuver.
