Hazel Jennings, the city Department of Correction’s Chief, has retired after more than 30 years with the agency, the last three-and-a-half as its top uniformed officer.
Ms. Jennings officially left her post July 2, after which she was fêted by hundreds with food and booze in an affair that lasted for hours on Rikers Island, to the apparent dismay of some officers.
