With less than a month until the first day of school, the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators Aug. 12 urged Mayor de Blasio and Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza to delay in-person instruction until a number of safety issues were addressed, a message supported by several other unions representing employees in the school system.
In a letter to the de Blasio administration, CSA President Mark Cannizzaro called for in-person instruction to be phased in starting in late September, with students learning remotely full-time during the first few weeks of school.
