The NYPD must release detailed data pertaining to summonses and arrests in connection with fare evasions in the subway system, a Manhattan Supreme Court Justice ruled.
The decision by Justice Arthur F. Engoron, issued Sept. 23, was in response to a lawsuit by City Councilman Rory Lancman and the Community Service Society of New York. They had sought the data after the department did not post it, as it was required to do according to a local law.
