A package of bills to ensure greater fire safety on movie sets in the city was approved 49-0 by the City Council Feb. 25.
The changes were championed by the Uniformed Firefighters Association and Eileen Davidson, the widow of Firefighter Michael Davidson, who died at 37 from injuries in he suffered fighting a 2018 fire that tore through a former Harlem jazz club that had been converted into a movie set.
