Political support for City Council staffers to form a union picked up momentum as the organizers of the effort formally kicked off their card sign-up campaign Nov. 18.
“We have six people on the core committee and 50 more people on the organizing committee and it is growing day by day,” said Zara Nasir, a Council staffer with the Progressive Caucus. “There’s been tons of internal support. People are very excited.”
