Wisconsin prosecutors say Gov. Scott Walker illegally coordinated spending between his campaign and outside groups during his 2012 recall election, skirting campaign finance limits and disclosure laws.
The allegations, revealed in court documents unsealed June 19, are part of a long-running investigation by county district attorneys into Mr. Walker’s recall campaign, launched after he pushed through a bill imposing strict limits on collective bargaining by public employees. The Governor portrayed the probe as a partisan effort to undermine his re-election chances.
