All seven categories of major crime dipped last month compared with January 2024, contributing to a 16.8-percent year-over-year decline citywide, NYPD officials said.
Police recorded double-digit decreases in murders, shootings, grand larcenies, auto thefts and robberies, the department said Tuesday.
