Unions oppose Disney's "rapid timetable" for theme park reopening

Citing concern for worker safety in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, a coalition of a dozen unions that together represent about 17,000 Disneyland employees want the State of California to delay Disney's planned reopening of the theme park and other facilities.

The unions, which have been in talks with representatives from the Anaheim theme park, sent a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom objecting to Disney’s plans, saying they were “not yet convinced that it is safe to reopen the parks on Disney’s rapid timetable,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
