In what’s become a regular occurrence on the Democratic primary trail in New York City this year, two candidates for mayor, Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani and city Comptroller Brad Lander, last week tore into the race’s front-runner, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, characterizing him as insufficiently pro-labor during a small rally outside of City Hall.
United Auto Workers’ officials attended the May 21 event to reaffirm their support for the three candidates they have endorsed in the mayoral primary — Lander, Mamdani and Queens state Senator Jessica Ramos.
