A third former superintendent at the city Housing Authority has been convicted of bribery and extortion charges for accepting money in exchange for approving contracts in connection with the large takedown by the U.S. Department of Justice last February.
Corey Gilmore, 46, who worked as a superintendent at three NYCHA developments in the Bronx from 2016 and 2023, was convicted Dec. 13 for demanding and receiving tens of thousands in cash from contractors seeking no-bid contracts. In a press release announcing the conviction, the office of U.S Attorney for the Southern District of New York stated that Gilmore typically demanded $1,000 for each contract he awarded.
