A few of our stories and columns are now in front of the paywall. We at The Chief-Leader remain committed to independent reporting on labor and civil service. It's been our mission since 1897. You can have a hand in ensuring that our reporting remains relevant in the decades to come. Consider supporting The Chief, which you can do for as little as $3.20 a month.
To the editor:
It has not been my purpose to "weaken" arguments but rather for all of us more or less in the same boat to learn and grow from each other (“Dissent,” The Chief, Letters, Feb. 21). Democrats would rather deny than look in the mirror and see what a flawed candidate Harris was. The popular vote was very close; a halfway decent campaign would have likely seen a Harris presidency. Claims such as "but Trump did/didn't this" doesn't win elections. What wins elections is looking at what Harris got wrong and Trump got right. What will win elections is looking at all the comments on YouTube and on blogs as to what Harris got wrong.

I disagree. What the Democrats got "wrong" in the eyes of Trump's racist, misogynistic, xenophobic America is that presidential candidate Kamala Harris is a black woman of foreign (lIndian and Jamaican) descent. It's a simple as that -- for the difference in this close election.
