I am beginning to think that the acronym GOP now stands for Ghost Of a Party. As I recently wrote, the party of Lincoln began its decline over 70 years ago. After losing five straight presidential elections, some within the GOP saw the “opportunity” for success by cobbling together a coalition of extremists.
