Some doctors in the city’s public hospital system are expressing discontent with tentative contracts reached last week between the Doctors Council and their private-sector affiliate employers, noting in particular that the agreements, retroactive to August 2023, do not include back pay.
The four-year deals, which would expire Aug. 24, 2027 and must still be ratified, would provide the NYC Health + Hospitals physicians with base salary increases and recognition bonuses for those who worked during the Covid pandemic.
