To the editor:
Donald Trump promised a great economy for the people from Day 1 of his presidency, and prices are rising on everything, and the stock market that used to be his measuring tool for economic success, is tanking, so Trump says he’s not focused on the stock market.
Trump’s tariffs will clearly damage our economy and the economy of many of our former allies, especially Canada and Mexico. He now stupidly says he will take revenge on any automakers who pass the tariff costs on to purchasers of cars.
Trump’s attempts to take over the world, including Greenland, Panama and even Canada, have led to profound mistrust among our allies. Canada will never trust our nation as long as it is led by Trump and his Project 2025 racist, xenophobic autocrats.
Trump is even trying to run (ruin?) American museums, removing people and symbols of justice and courage and revert to pre-Civil War days. Does anyone doubt he has more respect for Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis than he has for Ulysses S. Grant and Abraham Lincoln? It’s clear that Trump wants to return Blacks to their former status before real heroes, among them Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King Jr. and many others, helped change racist America.
Does any rational person who is paying attention to Trump’s clownish `antics really believe he will make it, mentally and emotionally, through the next 3 3/4 years? I doubt it. Then we will have Project 2025 leaderless, and like the headless horseman running roughshod on America and its moral values. True Christians and people of all religions who value justice and morality are praying “God help America.”

He doesn't care if you pay more for anything. He's totally deranged this time. Let's see what happens tomorrow, on "Liberation Day". Even Republicans are speaking up at Town Halls. And, his favorite measure, the stock market, is down. It's going to get worse. We're going to be in a recession soon.

The real question is how so many of his supporters still believe him. The tariffs on Canada and Mexico violate the USMCA trade agreement Trump initiated, helped craft, pushed for and signed into law. That alone should be proof that Trump's word is worthless, yet the faithful still think only he speaks the truth. Go figure.

“Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) is a psychological condition characterized by irrational criticism of President Trump. Even if he miraculously parted the Red Sea, his critics would find fault with this extraordinary accomplishment. It is acceptable to disagree with Trump’s policies. Personal attacks are irrational. Instead of attacking his unconventionalities, criticize his policies.

JDonne, what you call “irregularities” of Donald Trump are really illegalities and immoralities. Trump is a convicted felon and a malignant narcissist. He’s the greatest threat to American democracy since the Confederacy, and more recently, Naziism and Communism.

Namrogm, are you genuinely convinced by your biased perspective on President Trump? President Trump represents democracy; he was elected by the people, for the people, with an overwhelming majority of American voters supporting him.

I have a very different definition of TDS, that being a psychological condition characterized by unconditional support of Trump no matter the lies he tells or how badly things are going. Like believing Trump is an economic genius even when your retirement savings are dropping like a rock and consumer prices continue to rise. Or stating that Trump won an overwhelming majority of American voters when he received 49.8% of the vote? Do Trump supporters know what the word majority means? Or overwhelming for that matter when his margin of victory in the popular vote was less than one and one-half percent (2.285 million out of 155.238 million votes cast)?

Donald J. Trump secured a resounding victory in the 2024 presidential election, triumphing in both the popular vote and the electoral college. This achievement stands as an unparalleled comeback in the annals of presidential history, an indisputable fact. I will diligently compile and disseminate the comprehensive 2024 election results.
All data has been sourced from the Official 2024 Presidential General Election Results, released by the State Elections Office on November 5, 2024.
**Popular Vote Total:** 77,302,580
**Electoral Vote Total:** 312
**Popular Vote Percentage:** 50.74%
**Number of States Won:** 31
**Total Number of Votes Cast:** 152,322,830

JDonne, you really need to find better sources for your facts. According to the Federal Election Commision, the official record keeper for U.S. elections, Trump did receive 77,302,508 votes, but that was 49.8% (LESS THAN HALF) of the 155,238,302 votes cast.
No one is doubting that Trump won, but he did so by a very narrow margin. Nothing historic, resounding or otherwise exceptional. The 2024 election was the 10th lowest margin, by percentage, of all presidential elections and that includes 4 where the winner lost the popular vote - GW Bush (2000), Benjamin Harrison (1888), Donald Trump (2016) and Rutherford Hayes (1876). Post WW2, only Nixon (1968) and Kennedy (1960) saw a smaller margin than Trump (2024). His "mandate" only exists in the minds of his supporters.

Trump’s historic election victory achieved a remarkable feat by securing the popular vote (50.74%), garnering (312) electoral votes, and capturing every swing state. As a result, Republicans have gained control of both the House and Senate, and this reality is undeniable.

JDonne, apparently you are mathematically challenged. Trump DID NOT get 50.74% of the vote. He received 49.8%, less than half of all votes. Do those who voted for third party candidates not count?
Unlike Trump's denials (and likely yours) of losing in 2020, no one disputes that Trump won in 2024 - by one of the 10 thinnest margins in U.S. history. What we do reject are falsehoods.
Remember your enthusiasm when Trump drives the country into the ground and the rest of the world turns their back on us.

It’s clear that you don’t understand the content of what you read or the basic principles of mathematics. Therefore, your attempts to manipulate election results are futile. I reiterate that Trump won the 2024 presidential election with a landslide victory. He secured 50.74 percent of the popular vote and (312) electoral votes. The candidate who receives 270 electoral votes, or in Trump’s case, (312) electoral votes, wins the presidency. Unfortunately, Democrats are too consumed by hatred to acknowledge this fact. In the future, when you express your opinions, write clearly and concisely, not gibberish.

JDonne, The State Elections Office - your own source - officially recorded that 155,238,302 votes were cast for the presidency in the 2024 election. Of those, Trump received 77,302,580.
Using simple arithmetic 77,302,580 divided by 155,238,302 yield a percentage of 49.796074167314, rounded up to 49.8%.
If that equates to a "landslide victory" in your mind, what can I say. Is that clear and concise enough for you or is still too much gibberish?

Your assertions are nonsensical. The data I cite originates from the Official 2024 Presidential Election Results, released on November 5, 2024. My data is reliable, while your communication is gibberish. A crucial fact is that to secure the presidency, a candidate needs 270 electoral votes. Donald J. Trump achieved this by securing (312) electoral votes. This overwhelming victory enabled Trump to assume the presidency. In contrast, Kamala Harris is currently in China, and the Democratic Party is in a state of complete disarray. Is this explanation sufficiently clear?

Yesterday, Trump temporarily lifted tariffs on most countries except China, while intensifying tariffs against China. This strategy allows simultaneous trade negotiations with over 70 nations while maintaining pressure on China. Trump’s actions aim to address the Biden economy’s shortcomings, bring American industries home, and create high-paying jobs.
In the 2024 presidential election, Trump won an overwhelming victory over Kamala Harris, securing (312) electoral votes. (Electoral votes are decisive in the U.S. presidential election.)
Moving forward, Trump plans to enter into trade deals with over 70 nations, imposing unfair tariffs on the U.S., including Canada and the European Union. This surpasses Biden’s four-year accomplishments. American industries are expected to return, leading to unprecedented economic growth. After three months in office, Trump’s economic acumen is evident.
