To the Editor: On March 10, a small group of inmates in the Enhanced Security Housing unit which holds the most violent and dangerous inmates in NYC set a dozen fires at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center, and when transferred to the George Vierno Center unit ignited several more that same day.
On March 11, the inmates lit more than 30 additional fires at the George Vierno Center, and another dozen on March 12, some causing structural damage.
