To the Editor: As a New York City retiree—with 30 years of dedicated service—I am extremely disappointed with Mayor Adams's recent statement in support of the NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan (MAPP).
The MAPP is being foisted on NYC retirees. Retirees will be automatically enrolled in the MAPP unless they op-out in order to keep their current health plans. If a retiree chooses to opt-out and retain their current health plan, they will be saddled with an annual premium that will be a hardship for many retirees who live on a fixed income.
